With Hëlth on both iPhones
- If you have an Apple Watch, keep it near the iPhone with the data for a few minutes first, so its latest data is there.
- On the iPhone with the data, open Hëlth, tap Send from this iPhone, then Allow Health access and start. On Apple's permission screen, turn everything on and allow. If it asks how much data to share, choose All Recorded Data and Future Data.
- When it says Ready to send, tap Send to the other iPhone, choose AirDrop and pick the other iPhone. The file opens in Hëlth there.
- On the other iPhone, check what's in the file, tap Copy into Health and allow access the same way.
With Hëlth on one iPhone
For when the iPhone with the data can't have Hëlth, a work phone for example.
- On the iPhone with the data, open the Health app, tap your picture at the top right, then Export All Health Data and Export. Making it can take a few minutes.
- Choose AirDrop and pick the iPhone with Hëlth. Open export.zip in Hëlth there, then tap Copy into Health.
- The Health app's export leaves out heartbeat series, State of Mind and the separate parts of multisport workouts, and keeps times to the second. Hëlth lists what's left out before you copy.
When something goes wrong
The file went to Files instead of opening in Hëlth
Open Hëlth, tap Receive on this iPhone, then Choose the file. AirDrop usually puts files in Downloads.
"This isn't a Hëlth file or a Health export"
Choose the file Hëlth's Send made (it ends in .healthcopy), or the export.zip from the Health app. Other zip files won't work.
It says Health only shares data from a certain date
On Apple's permission screen, "Past 30 Days" was chosen instead of All Recorded Data. That choice can't be changed afterwards, so delete Hëlth, install it again and choose All Recorded Data and Future Data this time.
Some kinds of data weren't copied
Apple only lets its own apps write some data, like Exercise, Stand and Move minutes, Activity rings, ECG recordings and heart rhythm notifications. Hëlth lists these under Can't be copied before you start. Your Apple Watch records them again once it's paired with the iPhone.
If some kinds were turned off on the permission screen, turn them on in the Health app (tap your picture, then Apps, then Hëlth) and run it again. Anything already copied is skipped.
It stopped, or the iPhone locked
Health locks its data when the iPhone locks, so Hëlth pauses until you unlock it. If it was closed, open it again: it carries on where it stopped.
Copied records show Hëlth as the source
That's how Health works: records always show the app that added them. The device that recorded each one, such as your Apple Watch, is kept in the record's details.
I want to undo the copy
On the iPhone you copied to, tap Remove what Hëlth added on the home screen. It deletes only the records Hëlth put in. You can copy them again afterwards.
The iPhone is low on storage
Health needs room for the copied records, and Hëlth warns you before starting if it looks tight. Free up space in Settings, General, iPhone Storage, then try again.
What you need
An iPhone with iOS 16 or later for Hëlth. With the Health app's export, the iPhone with the data doesn't need Hëlth, just the Health app.
